The picture of the backrest on the Burgman is on a 650 but it looks about the same on the 400 aside from the posts are bent like in the picture of the stand alone backrest.

As you can see from the picture this backrest has a void in the middle that is great for those warmer days. The picture of the bike with the backrest is of a 650 but the backrest for sale fits the 400's. The second stand alone picture is of the backrest for the Burgman 400.
It is simple to install by removing the Philips head screws on the factory butt rest, sliding that out and sliding in this backrest. It is also waterproof, affordable, great looking and the color matches the seat. It looks like it belongs on the bike and not like an add on accessory.
It provides excellent back support for people who are taller and desire more leg room. If you are not as tall we now make them so that they are adjustable as well to accommodate shorter riders.
My wife and I have them on our Burgmans and love them. Others have used them and they like them as well. It is an inexpensive alternative to an otherwise over $500.00 custom seat.

?As you may recall, I purchased a back rest from you in July. I just had the opportunity to finally install and use it about 2 weeks ago. I think the back rest is terrific! I used it on a 100 mile ride from our campground to Chicago. Then rode back a week or so later, and put about 250 miles on the Burgman. I believe the backrest has reduced the strain I used to get on my shoulders. I used to ache in the shoulders after a long ride. The backrest is very comfortable.?

?I received the backrest and installed it right away. I just wanted to write and tell you that I have enjoyed it. I have been using it in town mostly back and forth, home to work. I really appreciate the extra support it gives my back while I ride. It also puts me more upright and helps me to keep my concentration on the road which for safety purposes is of prime importance.
About a week ago my wife and I took a longer ride on I15 to a small town southwest of Great Falls, for lunch and basically a joy ride. The backrest was great and performed great on the highway. So, in me, you've got a satisfied customer. Thanks again.?
